On the south western shore, close to Playa Blanca, the volcanic lava fields once met the sea and immediately cooled. They left a fantastic system of caves, arches and tunnels where the sea blasts in and out, bubbling and cascading up into the air. (Los Hervideros means the boiling waters.) You can explore this area on paths, which weave in and out of this rocky coastline. Low walls and warnings give some protection, but it is probably a good place to keep tight hold of small children!
