Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote
Puerto del Carmen is the largest and most developed resort on the island. It is big, brash and lively. If you like your beaches long, sandy and full of holidaymakers, if you like a busy, holiday resort with plenty of nightlife and amenities developed especially for tourists, then this is the place for you!
The vast, wide, golden beach has a huge range of watersports and leisure facilities, including a diving school. It is bordered by rocky coves and a harbour. The main coastal road through the town has a huge range of British style bars and restaurants where you can keep up to date with the football, or your favourite TV soaps. There are plenty of shopping opportunities and a wide selection of night clubs, cocktail bars and live entertainment.
NOTE - Do not expect the beaches and streets to be as empty as they are shown on these photos, which were taken at 9 am in the morning!
