Orzola, Lanzarote
In the far north of the island lies Orzola: primarily a small, attractive, fishing village, with a working harbour. Excursion boats leave here regularly for a 15 minute trip to La Graciosa. The village attracts many visitors, who come for lunch in one of the excellent fish restaurants.

The road to Orzola from Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes passes through eye catching scenery: the black malpais larva fields run down to a twinkling, turquoise sea, occasionally interspersed with pretty, sandy coves and beaches. The most popular of these is Caleton Blanco, reached by a dirt track road down to a small makeshift car park on a patch of sand. This beach is particularly popular with small children as it surrounds a clear, warm, shallow lagoon safe from the perils of the open sea.
