 After descending down to the undeground cafe and lake at Jameos del Agua, you can ascend into the sunshine, at the far end of the lake, through the terrace of a funky bar, where you reach a dazzling spectacle: a man made swimming pool (closed for public swimming) in brilliant white, with turquoise water, artistically arranged palm trees and flowering shrubs fringing its shore. Behind this is a large underground concert hall, which was unfortunately closed for renovation during our visit.MORE... |

After descending down to the undeground cafe and lake at Jameos del Agua, you can ascend into the sunshine, at the far end of the lake, through the terrace of a funky bar, where you reach a dazzling spectacle: a man made swimming pool (closed for public swimming) in brilliant white, with turquoise water, artistically arranged palm trees and flowering shrubs fringing its shore. Behind this is a large underground concert hall, which was unfortunately closed for renovation during our visit. Above ground once more, there is yet another bar/cafe and a science museum, which explains to visitors the story of the island's volcanic history.
